The Linz International Short Film Festival, founded in 2018 by Parisa Ghasemi and Ashkan Nematian, is dedicated to supporting young, talented filmmakers by providing a platform to showcase their high-quality creations within a professional setting. The festival places a thematic emphasis on diversity and independent films characterized by strong characters, compelling plots, and creative narratives. The festival’s dynamic programming includes panel discussions, night-lines, workshops, Pitch sessions, enriching the experience for filmmakers and attendees.
As part of its initiative to nurture emerging talent, the festival launched the Talent Academy. This initiative offers educational and developmental opportunities for filmmakers to refine their skills and connect with industry experts. Through the Talent Academy, selected participants receive mentorship, personalized guidance, and access to workshops and residencies during Festival de Cannes and Linz International Short Film Festival. This initiative underscores the festival’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in the international short film community while providing a launching pad for emerging filmmakers to shine on a global stage.
