We start the 2nd festival edition with a real-time film music intervention from OKABRE at the Festival Lobby and the screening of the short Ambience by Wisam Aljafari (Cannes Cinéfondation winner 2019). A talk about the various facets of (short) filmmaking – in front of, behind and beside the camera at the Festival Café.
What obstacles are to overcome? What opportunities await? What does the short film scene bring? The film has been shot and then? How to make it public?
Together with Neda Jebreili (actor), Omid Shams (director), Anna Prischl (YOUKI festival director), Wisam Aljafari (director), Parisa Ghasemi (LINZIS festival director) these questions will be discussed.
A delicious lunch is served by Rajaa’s food!

MOVIEMENTO
On Saturday we host our partner festival YOUKI and show a selection of their film program.
The YOUKI International Youth Media Festival will take place from 19 to 23 November 2019 in Wels and you shouldn’t miss it!
YOUKI is an annual festival for young media culture held in November. For 21 years it has taken place in the Medien Kultur Haus, Programmkino and Alte Schlachthof in Wels. The heart of the festival is the International Film Competition, in which young directors from all over the world submit their films to us every year. In 2019 there were more than 3000. In addition, YOUKI sees itself as a platform for representatives of the film, media and cultural industries, offers tasting rooms, media mediation, concerts and deals with contemporary phenomena in discursive events.

AWARD CEREMONY & FILM SCREENING

OK MEDIENDECK
The ceremony begins with a World Music Trio by Danial Moazeni, Aron Hollinger and Odysseas Minidakis at the OK Mediendeck. At the award ceremony, the jury honours the prize winners and awards the best short films in various categories. During the evening there will be gypsy jazz from Gybravarisil interludes. Followed by a noise video sound performance from Stefan Tiefengraber on stage.
A delicious buffet is served by Rajaa’s food!

FESTIVAL CLUB

OK MEDIENDECK
At the final clubbing, we celebrate all the winners and filmmakers of this year’s festival edition. The wonderful Xing will perform with Thomas Bernhard (guitar) live on stage. Followed by a unique performance by Jens Vetter and a brilliant DJ set by Björn Büchner! Come and celebrate with us!
